Big Bear campground is a terrific place for your family if you feel like relaxing at a nice peaceful campground with friendly neighbors, a water park, and much more then you should at least go up a look around. The sights are quite beautiful. I am not saying the cabins and stuff are cheap but hey WHAT IS??? As I said if you have the chance go up and possibly look around.
F.Y.I. Take your camera there is much wildlife.

Animals don't like camera's
I haven't seen an animal within 50 yards of my camera recently. And when there is one it runs/flies off before I take the picture. So I am sorry about there not being any new posts but I can't find any pics. or anything to write about. I will look through a few more pics. saved on my computer, but if I don't find anything I am sorry.

Now how corny is the title. Well anyways There was a Great blue heron in my front yard the other day and I got some pictures of it! To bad they didn't look good. So here are some for the Internet. As you can see they like to live around water (which there is a creek in my front yard). As shown they have long beaks which helps them scoop up frogs, small fish, and crawdads. (also called crayfish or crawl fish) Their wingspan is 66-79 in. long. Let me tell you when you see one take off from a 4 foot wide creek and fly off into the distance, it is B-E-A-U-tiful.

WHITETAIL DEER
White tail deer are commonly found in most of West Virginia. They are commonly hunted by humans, mountain lions, and coyote. This specific picture (taken in my front yard) is of a young buck. (6 point) This picture was taken a couple months ago so the deer's velvet is just coming in. Velvet is a leathery coat that covers the animal's antlers during a specific time of the year.
If I hike up on the hill in my backyard there are deer everywhere. If humans don't begin to conserve on a massive scale this species as well as many others will be gone.

Journal
My friend Jesse and I went hiking last weekend and we had an awesome time. We were gone most of the day and hiking in the hot sun. (85 degrees) According to my step counter we hiked over 6MILES! in 6HOURS! Well here is my messy journal.
Translation:
Dear Journal, 7-14-09
Today Jesse and I are once again in Fairveiw, WV. We visited the Indian caves. We are currently
calling in turkeys with a call. No luck. (peace sign) We are going to a tree stand. Jesse and I are in the (old) tree stand calling turkeys again. Nothings working but we are looking at some (beautiful) deer. (3 does went by and didn't notice a thing) OML: Oh My Llama I almost stepped on a turtle. It is a cute little box turtle. So that little guy was in the middle of the woods. So about 20 yards away we said we should go back and put it near water. (after we got back 40 minutes later.) We couldn't find him. (We couldn't even find the tree it was by.) Till' next time!

A comment was left saying I should have posts on animal pictures in WV, then describe each animal. So I will go hiking and see if I can get some pics.

Hiking
Today Jesse and I went hiking up at my grandpa's farm. We filmed an ENTIRE!!!! 4 minutes. So the videos we post may be a little short. Anyways I wrote in my journal and hear is exactly what I wrote. What is in ( ) is what I put in just now not what I wrote.
Just in case you can't read what the entry says :Dear Journal, Jesse and I are at Fairveiw (WV) and we hiked up a HUGE hill. We saw abandoned horses. (They were stuck in and small fence about 80yards long and 5 ft. wide without water. we tried to leave them some but we had nothing to put it in.) We are going to hike down the other side, which we have never done before. (by the way that hill was at a 75 degree angle!) So far we have seen 4 deer and 4 (abandoned) horses. We found mysterious circle-e tracks. We have traveled to the basic end of the (LONG) path.

Journal
Since Survivorman was cancelled on discovery and is only on the HD Science channel every now and then, I need something else to write about. Since we got out of school today (which means it is almost summer) I have decided to write down all my hiking adventures in a journal as I hike. So when I hike next, I will write down my adventure. When I get back I will copy them onto here. Sound Good?
Hello and Goodbye
I am sorry for there not being any posts, but with my birthday on June 3rd all of my time was packed with stuff. Well, not much of a hello but GOODBYE! I am going to the beach from June 6th (tommorow) until June 13th. So don't forget to leav comments and I will write when I am back here.

Birdies!
MOST of the coldness is over here in WV but not much rain which means birds are getting hungry. The rain forces the worms to come to the surface for air and if there isn't any rain, that means no worms. So hang up those bird feeders folks. Ha Ha, Well I discovered a sparrow's nest in my mom's pine tree and it has 4 little eggs in it. It is beside my dryer vent so the nest is made of lint and twigs. It looks very cozy! The mother bird also needs extra food for her young so now is a great time to buy some bird-seed.
